Youth Festival 2024
A youth festival is more than just an event. It’s a vibrant celebration of creativity, energy, and cultural expression. It brings together young people from diverse backgrounds to share their talents, challenge themselves, and experience the thrill of friendly competition. From the pulse of music and dance to the power of spoken word and theatre, a youth festival provides a unique platform for students to step into the spotlight and make memories that will last a lifetime. In this blog, I shall explore the performances and events of Youth Festival 2024, organised by Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University.
Kalayatra
Youth Festival begins with Kalayatra, which is a procession where students get to showcase their creativity and present tableaux with various subjects and messages.
In the Kala Yatra, students of the English department explored the complexities surrounding today’s education system through a powerful performance. The presentation depicted how corrupted media often distorts information, influencing young minds and shaping public opinion on education in misleading ways. We highlighted corruption within the education system itself, where financial and political interests sometimes overshadow genuine learning. Alongside this, we showcased the growing challenges of addiction to recreational drugs and video games captivate students, drawing them away from productive pursuits. Each aspect of this performance revealed a pressing issue, illustrating how these influences collectively impact the quality and direction of education, urging viewers to consider the changes needed for a more focused and constructive educational environment.
